Mr Pang, J.P., Miss Law, Directors, Guests of Honour, Mr Ng, Parents, Teachers and Fellow Schoolmates,

Today is a special day for all of us F.5 graduates. I am honored to have the opportunity to say something here on behalf of all F.5 students.

Time and tide waits for no men. How quickly five years of study at Law Chan Chor Si College have gone. Of course we have gained a lot during the five years.

I believe that all F.5 students felt nervous like me when we first went to school five years ago. However, the teachers’ smiles eliminated our anxieties. I remember that we did not have our own school building, so we went to another school’s campus, and we didn’t have a uniform in the first two weeks. Frankly speaking, I was quite disappointed during that time. But when I studied longer at our school, I found that it is a wonderful school. Students get on very well with teachers. They teach us with love, patience and encourage us to explore new interests in learning. Besides that, teachers are not only the people who teach us knowledge, but they are also our friends and listeners.

In the second year, we finally had our own school building. This shows that Law Chan Chor Si College not only has outstanding software but excellent hardware. Apart from gaining knowledge from the books, our school wants to equip us in many other aspects too. Therefore, our school always encourages us to participate in more extracurricular activities to cultivate a lifelong interest in both sports and art. Our school also provides students with many opportunities to be exchange students in other countries to enrich our lives. All of these are what our school does for us to help us contribute to our changing society in the future.

In the past, all of us were like blank pieces of paper. Now, the teachers have drawn wonderful pictures on our pages and made them colorful. Without the guidance of our teachers, we could never be what we are today; the beautiful pieces of art, each in our own individual way.

In fact, we are the first graduates who have completed five years of study at Law Chan Chor Si College. ‘First’ means we are the pioneers of our school. When we step into society, we can confidently tell others that we graduated from Law Chan Chor Si College. We can look at graduating in two ways. One, we are happy because we have grown up a lot during the five years. We have learnt a lot about subjects, we have learnt better ways to get along with people and we have learnt to define ourselves. More importantly, we have struck up friendships at school. On the other hand, we are upset because we are going to leave our friends. No, that is wrong. To ‘Leave’ does not mean to ‘forget’. We can keep in touch with our schoolmates and teachers.

Someone said ‘school is like a shadow of society.’ Actually, we will have a harder time in society than what we have had at school. But we have overcome SARS, we have been trained in the barracks, we have tried our best in the HKCEE. We are the students of Law Chan Chor Si College. Principal and teachers, we promise you that we will apply what we have learnt in all aspects of our lives, to best serve our society.

Lastly, on behalf of all the graduates, I would like to thank Mr Pang, Miss Law, the directors, Mr Ng, the teachers, our parents, our classmates and friends. Wish you every success and a rich future full of health, prosperity and happiness. Thank you.
